At the bottom of the hill, in the village of Lucarelli, lies the renowned restaurant Osteria Le Panzanelle. Likewise, from the bottom of our hill departs a bus for the centre of Florence (see below) and another for the centre of Siena. We are located almost exactly half way between Florence and Siena and close to Panzano, Radda and Castellina in Chianti.

How to get to Le Ripe by car:

from Florence city: route one (scenic)
You have to take the 222 or Chiantigiana road from Florence, south past Panzano where there is a turn-off left to Lucarelli, Radda and Gaiole. As soon as you arrive in Lucarelli you take a right down a slope opposite a restaurant called Osteria Le Panzanelle, cross the bridge and take the first left up the hill. Le Ripe is the second house, the one with the two cypress trees.

from Florence city or Florence airport: route two (faster)
From Florence head to Impruneta (either via A1 motorway from airport or directly from the city). At the motorway exit Impruneta head to the Si-Fi freeway (superstrada) to the San Donato exit. Turn left for San Donato and then drive past San Donato towards Piazza then Radda/Gaiole and Lucarelli. As soon as you arrive in Lucarelli take a right down a slope opposite a restaurant called Osteria Le Panzanelle, cross the bridge and take the first left up the hill. Le Ripe is the second house, the one with the two cypress trees.

from Pisa airport:
Take the Fi-Pi-Li freeway directly from the airport and exit at Ginestra, heading for San Casciano. From San Casciano either take the route via Greve along the 222 and from there to Lucarelli or get on to the Si-Fi freeway (superstrada) and exit at San Donato and then drive past San Donato towards Piazza then Radda/Gaiole and Lucarelli. As soon as you arrive in Lucarelli take a right down a slope opposite a restaurant called Osteria Le Panzanelle, cross the bridge and take the first left up the hill. Le Ripe is the second house, the one with the two cypress trees.

from Rome: route one (scenic)
Exit the A1 Motorway at Val D’Arno and turn right to Montevarchi then follow signs to Gaiole/Radda.
Pass by Radda and continue on for Lucarelli, Greve. At the end of the little village of Lucarelli take the road that slopes down left opposite a restaurant called Osteria Le Panzanelle, cross the bridge and take the first left up the hill. Le Ripe is the second house, the one with the two cypress trees.

from Rome: route two (faster)
Exit the A1 Motorway at Bettolle and take the 326 to Siena, by-passing Siena on the 674 and entering the Si-Fi freeway (superstrada) at Siena Nord. Exit this freeway at San Donato, head towards San Donato and then drive past San Donato towards Piazza then Radda/Gaiole and Lucarelli. As soon as you arrive in Lucarelli you take a right down a slope opposite a restaurant called Osteria Le Panzanelle, cross the bridge and take the first left up the hill. Le Ripe is the second house, the one with the two cypress trees.

How to get to Le Ripe by public transport from Florence (yes, this is possible!):

From near Florence Santa Maria Novella train station (exit the station on the right and follow the road around to the right to the entrance of the Busitalia bus station) catch a bus to Lucarelli.
